 Ethiopian music instrument

 

KERAR

This five-string instrument made of aged leather stretched on wood is played to enjoy the pleasures of reminiscing the time of loneliness and love. Its decorative tunes arouse memories of past experiences and have helped warriors gather courage before battles.

MASENKO

Played with a bow-string this instrument has deep clean sound typically associated with Azmaris troubadour’s .the harmonious combination of the sound of the Masenko usually arouse felling of love, sorrow, joy and courage.

KEBERO

The name of this drum originated from the Amharic word “honor” and the sounds echo the frequent recurrence of our feeling and emotions, the rhythmic movement of day and night joy and grief and a life and death.

WASHINT

This bamboo made instrument is the shepherd’s best friend, accompanying him with its nostalgic melodies through his daily solitude in the fields and valley.
